NBA2K League Stuck In The Truck—Creative strategy, direction, and additional design work for a traveling event bringing together NBA talent and basketball fanatics.
As a member of the Design team at NBA Take Two Media, I was tasked with developing a direction for an event designed to bring together fans, NBA players, and the recently released NBA 2K27 video game under one show called "Stuck in the Truck".
Along with other junior designers and art directors, we communicated with the production team within our company to bring our ideas to life. Numerous meetings with the contractors tasked with making sure our digital mockups matched the final product kept us focused on how to best show off the new video game and highlight the well-known talent appearing at the event.
From current NBA players to social media personalities, several high profile individuals visited the truck as it stopped at four sites from Philadelphia to New York City. Bespoke mystery boxes and cards kept things interesting as games against fans became harder to complete.
The first stop of the "tour" was in New York City at the historic West 4th St courts, featuring New York Knicks center Andre Drummond. Flyers were hung around the surrounding area leading up to the event, promoting the pop up to both basketball diehards and players eager to try out the new NBA 2K video game.
Digital mockups of the events flyers were also produced and shared on the official NBA 2K League Instagram page.
After this event, the 2KL truck made its way to Philly, with 76ers rookie LaBaron Philon Jr. making an experience. The event not only helped promote the NBA 2K League and the traveling show, but led to organic interactions between fans and their favorite team's newest addition to the roster.
After another stop back in NYC at Bryant Park with Twitch streamer Heather Orii, the truck made its final stop in Williamsburg, this time featuring Jose Alverado.
