As the lead student designer for Saint James School’s theater program, also known as the Mummers’ Society, I was in charge of designing and producing a poster design as well as the backdrops and rolling flats for our 2021 production of Little Shop of Horrors. Also being the puppeteer inside the rented Audrey II plant, I provided the physical performance for multiple musical numbers voiced by another student off stage.
Backdrops were painted on three large sheets of canvas hung from the ceiling and flats were covered with street graffiti on one side and the interior of Mushnik’s flower shop on the other. I also painted a portrait of the student who played Mr. Mushnik to hang in ‘in his memory.’
