This short animation is based on a scene from the climax of the classic samurai film Harakiri (1962). I recreated the five second clip by splitting it into twenty-four frames and sketching out each individual frame with a pencil at about the scale of 2.5"x4".
Each frame was sketched on Bristol paper with graphite pencils without the use of digital onion skins, but once compiled together, the scene can be made out, even at slower frame rates than the original shot.
